Dear Students...

So now that it's all over, I want to say congratulations to all of you for making progress this semester.

I want to say a special congratulations to Hang and Fai, who were chosen as outstanding students of their classes.

I also want to say a special thank you to Jose, Hang, and Jay (and Susan!) for coming to help dry out my house after this recent (UNBELIEVABLE) flood!!!

This has been a really great semester for me. I always looked forward to coming to class and seeing all of you (well, not many of you in 5B so early in the morning). We had a lot of interesting discussions and debates and lots of fun with our good friend Abraham :)  I hope you continue to read and listen and debate and keep an open mind so that you can learn and grow.

Of course I hope you will stay in touch with me. If you're in Houston, please drop by when you can. In general, the best way to contact me is by email (holly_cin@yahoo.com). If there's anything I can do for you (within the scope of my limited powers), please don't hesitate to ask.

For those of you returning in the summer or fall, I hope you have a wonderful vacation and that you return in safety and health. For all of you, I wish you only success as you continue down your life's exciting and adventurous journey.

I will miss you guys. Thanks again for a wonderful semester and I look forward to getting together with you soon!

Weather conditions

What a big mess created by the bad weather. IAH airport is shutdown, Hobby airport has huge cancelation of flight. Moreover,  I-45 north , 59 south, 288 south all those freeway completely shutdown. Also metro is completely shutdown. Guys please pray for holly's house.

Finishing up...

Friday we'll have your final reading exam. Half of the test will cover argument (ch. 10) and purpose and tone (ch. 9). The other half of the test will be a combination of skills. You should complete ex. 1 and 2 and MT 1 and 2 for chapters 9 and 10 on the townsendpress.net website before the test on Friday. You should also complete "In Praise of the F Word" before Friday.

We'll do listening on Monday and on Thursday next week, including your final exam on Thursday.

We'll have a final Lincoln vocabulary test on Monday for all the chapters. I will post the new slides for chapters 9-13.
