From my perspective, There are two main people who benefit from the body language. First, the physiologist who is an expert or specialist in psychology. For example, the expert who is aware of body language is more likely to understand someone's else case from his automatic behavior. Another example is the detective , especially a police officer, whose occupation is to investigate and solve crimes. The detective will benefit from the body language by noticing the criminals or victims behavior. Their auto behavior leads him to figure out if they are laying or saying the truth. I hope that I understood the question well :s
I think doctors should interested in this expert's knowledge. According to the lecture, Mr. Navarro mentioned that the University School of Medicine ask him to teach something for their medical specialty. And then he gave us an example: asking your patient about any issues or anything that they may be concerned before surgery, see whether the patient touch their neck at or not. If the patient begin to touch their neck, that means there is some issue there, something make the patient feel uncomfortable. Normally this is a very accurate indicator. The other one is poker players. Poker players are interested in body language because they could understand his rivals when they're playing poker. Mr.Navarro said, if a player’s nose are dilated or moving, especially the sides of the nose, that means this person is going to take some physical action.
According to the lecture the physician (surgeon ) poker players are interested in body language. For example, if a physician knows how to read someone's body language the it will be much easier to detect the problem. In a poker game if you know how to read body language then you can easily guess what is going to happen next who knows maybe you can save yourself from a punch which could come from your opponent pkayer.
